Lotusland estates was a month-long iteration of an ongoing collaborative project between artists Philip Cornett, Richard Dodwell, and Paul Kindersley held at ELAN studio during the month of October 2016.

During 2016-17 Aid & Abet have been hosting and facilitating a series of drop-in workshops at ELAN as part of Circuit, a national programme led by Tate and funded by the Paul Hamlyn Foundation aimed towards young people aged between 15-25 years old.

With the restoration and redevelopment of Cambridge’s Spillers Mill finally nearing completion at Cambridge Station, ELAN hosts a very rare live appearance by Aino Tytti, a musician and sound artist who recently spent a year gathering sounds from Spiller’s huge and long-derelict Millennium Mills — another Victorian flourmill in London docklands.

Hoipolloi used ELAN studio as a test space to try out a new live comedy by BBC award-winning writer, Shôn Dale-Jones about fixing a script, the world and a porcelain figure. A series of these took place in non-theatre venues around Cambridge during the first week of February 2016.

Aid & Abet are pleased to be working in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University on a collaborative project/workshop with the MA Fine Art and Printmaking students.  We have been using the ELAN studio to explore the following creative areas through a series of dedicated hands-on making sessions.

An experimental sound, film and visual art event associated to a small group of artists affiliated with Anglia Ruskin University. Recitativo – Fragments from Lucretius and Negri’ is a collaborative work-in-progress that brings together text, voice, sound, music and images.

Aid & Abet launched their new studio space with Expanded Studio Project – Variety Show XIII – 26 artists from Wysing Arts Centre in Cambridge and Primary Studios in Nottingham were paired through a lottery system. Their 13 outcomes were displayed and performed over a weekend.
